Welcome to the Mobius Club Web Site

The Mobius Club is based in Yorkshire (the United Kingdom). Its members mainly live in Leeds and Huddersfield. This club was founded in October 1997 and has been registered with Proshare since January 1998. Proshare is an independent, not-for-profit organisation founded in 1992 by HM Treasury, the London Stock Exchange and a consortium of major companies to promote responsible share based investment . In October 2003, Proshareclubs (Proshare Investment Clubs) joined forces with Digital Look to underpin the UK investment Clubs community.

The first National investment Club Conference in the UK was held on the 1st of December 2007 in London - It has taken place within the World Money Show, with support by ProshareClubs, Timetotrade and a number of investment clubs (including Mobius). The event was led by investment clubs and all speakers were investment club members. The turnout was great and the conference was a superb meeting place for investment clubs. The plan is turn this event into an annual one as well as setup some regional ones around the UK. See details of the conference and presentations here or from Proshareclubs.

We meet on a monthly basis to review our investment portfolio and discuss further purchases/sales, the stockmarket in general as well as debate new companies. We also attend seminars organised by or for Investment clubs (notably via Proshare Clubs), in particular those organised in the North of England. We are always interested in meeting other Investment clubs to discuss clubs' best practice, investment vehicles, charting versus fundamentals etc..

The Mobius club has compiled a report on its activities, investment transactions, performance analysis, portfolio management and lessons learnt for the period between October 1997 and June 2004 (nearly seven years). A short version of this report also appeared as an article in the Bloomberg Money magazine in January 2005. The next release of the club's report featuring investment activities is scheduled for Q2 2008 (ten years worth of data with full analysis).
